Can neon signs be hard-wired into a wall with a light switch elsewhere?

Yes, when used as accent lighting you want to get a dimmer to reduce the brightness of the neon light.

Drivers are cheap to replace but they are most likely part to fail on the sign. Because of this DIY outside the wall installation is best for most customers. If the driver fails, you don’t want to have to rip the walls apart to replace it.

The dimmer we supply goes between the light and the driver on the 12V side. It has an industrial look and can be hidden somewhere outside the wall.

An electrician can help you can hide the cables inside the wall.

Hiding the driver may not be suitable for some installations. This is when an electrician is required for installation. In, a commercial building or residential home the driver (we supply) can be hidden in the ceiling cavity as it is too big to fit in a wall. You’ll need a Dimmable LED Driver so you can dim from the 230v side. We don’t supply these, but they are readily available from your local electrical supplier.
